Moving along

I have worked on this a few times and now it is so wet, I'll have to leave it alone for a few days. I am enjoying this change of pace.

Finished

Well, I think I finally finished the morning glories. I took them out again this week and decided I needed to finish up some of these unfinished paintings. This is oil pastel on 9" x 20" on hardboard.

angel update

Here is another update to Angel. Almost finished, but I didn't know what to do with the strip left at the bottom as it seemed so plain. She did have her paws on a table in the ref photo and was eyeing a plate of cucumbers, which she loves. I decided to put the edge of a plate there with a cucumber on it.

The past few weeks have been incredibly busy and stressful. Now subsiding a little, but still busy. I did manage to get another little painting done though.

6" x6" oil pastel on gessoed board of a small purple top turnip. The turnip was petrified by the time I finished....LOL

Sister time

My sister and her husband stopped by for a few days visit. They were on their way back to Vermont after spending a few weeks on Martha's Vineyard. They arrived on Sunday and left today and it rained the whole time. My sister makes beautiful basksets and she had her materials with her, so on Monday we spent the day at my studio so we could both do work. She started a new basket.

And I worked on my 6x6 garlic.

I did finish this last week, and finally took it off my camera. I also started another one, but won't have much studio time the next few weeks.

Here is another in my series of small paintings. I am managing to get one a week done. Hoope to do better in the coming days. I may be tweaking this a little, not sure. Oil pastel on gessoed hardboard.

Calendar Show

I haven't done much lately as we have been away. Back to the studio tomorrow. Good news, 2 of my oil pastel paintings were acepted as finalists in the North River Arts Society 2011 Calendar Show. At the opening next week, 13 pieces from the sixty finalists will be chosen for the calendar.

Pommegranite

Well I have totally decided to revamp the background on this little painting. It just isn't working for me so I'll be back later with a revamp. I don't like the background shape and I really need to get some green in this. Stay tuned.

More blue bucket

I am finally getting back to this and hope to finish it soon. I have been sidetracked the past few weeks with a commercial job and a bit of traveling. Here is another update.

Update

I have had only a little time to work on this this week, but have done some. I always have a hard time with the yellows so I am letting them sit for a few days. We have been trying to get our garden all planted, but now it has decided to be winter again. Cold, damp and rainy. Hopefully this weekend.
