This has been an exceptionaly busy week and I probably won't get this done this week. However, here is the progress....oil pastel on gessoed hardboard. Sigh, I had such good intentions, but for the most part I am keeping up. I will finish this next week.

Oil pastel demo

This past week I did a demo at a local art association using oil pastels. There was a great crowd and lots of interest in the medium. It is not generally known as a fine art medium as there are not many artists in this area who use them. I use oil pastels almost exclusively now and really like their vibrancy and versatility. Here are some pics of the demo and my demo piece. I will be finishing this and post the finish. I can never finish a painting during a demo. I also donated a print of an oil pastel and it is shown with the winner.

Cherry finish

I finally finished my small painting for last week...well I guessed I missed a week. Might need a little more tweaking after the oil pastel sets up.

I didn't get to work on this as much as I wannted today as I had to start getting work ready for a demo I am giving this week. So I am a week behind, but I hope to get this done this week and start another.

Another 6x6 WIP

I had hoped to finish this this week, but weaather got in the way of studio time. I do hope to finish it next week and I have started another. I am also doing a demo next week which I need to prepare for and then nothing is on the horizon...

Here is another in my series of small paintings. I am managing to get one a week done. Hoope to do better in the coming days. I may be tweaking this a little, not sure. Oil pastel on gessoed hardboard.
