We decided to get a small tree this year as the other one was just so combersome to haul in from the barn and set up. Not spring chickens anymore....Anyway we now have a 4 1/2 foot tree that sits nicely on our coffee table and is easy ro put up and take down. I finally succumbed to an artificial tree about 10 years ago when the real trees dropped needles almost before we took them into the house.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season.

Old and new?
I have been busy the past month getting our new gallery together and also getting ready for our Open Studio event . While cleaning out our storage room, I came across these pen and ink drawings that I did a while ago, so I thought I would mat them up and put them in my bin.
I also found an oil pastel that I had started as a demo, not sure where, but thought I would finish it and put it in my bin. I still have a little more tweaking to do on it, but it is almost finished.

Art in Bloom
My painting "Litekist" that is in the Plymouth Guid annual juried show was chosen as one of the paintings to be interpreted with a floral display by a member of the Plymouth Garden Club. The show was beautiful and the floral interpretations were excellent.

More on a mirror
Here is another painting of apples on a mirror. Oil pastel 12" x 12" on encausticbord. These images of fruit on a mirror are interesting and fun to do. May do a watermelon next.

Well, I'm finally getting back to the studio and I just finished this little oil pastel. 12" x 12" on encausticbord. It was a good way to get back into the wing of things.

Nothing new yet.
Just stopped by to let you know I am still around, but studio time has been exceedingly limited as I have been tending to my husband after his open heart surgery. All should be getting back to somewhat normal in the next few weeks. I did frame and drip off 3 painting fro the All Animal Show at the South Shore Conservatory in Hingham, MA. May 31 - October 1.

Finished......
Well I think I have finished this and will let it sit now. May need some tweaks, but I'll look at it awhile.
Now I am going to finish up some other work that has been sitting around, starting with this one.

Well I worked over this and finally scraped out the sand shadow, just not right. I added a pail and scraped out the shovel. It was a good scraping day yesterday. I think I know where I am going now and will fix it up on Monday. We had some more winter the past few days, but just a tease. The sun is now shining and let's get back to spring. We had robins in our yard just before the snow and red wings.

I can't seem to get in the groove lately, but I did start working on this painting of my grandson again. I am determined to finish it this week. It's about 16 x 20 oil pastel on gessoed board.

Work on the gaggle
Studio time has been very sporadic this month so I have not been able to do a lot of work. Let's hope I can get more time in this month.
I did start working on the gaggle and know this will take some time, but here is the start. 18" x 36" oil pastel on gessoed board.

Rooster finish
I finally finished the rooster this week. My studio mate thinks I should do a companion piece so there will be a pair. Not sure, will think about it as this was just supposed to be a demo for my class. I have gone back to working on the gaggle of geese and finishing up some older paintings.

More rooster
I finally returned to my studio this week after a long Christmas break. I am trying to finish this rooster, but had to put him down to let the tail feathers set up for a few days before working on them again. I hope to finish him on Monday. I am taking a break from most shows this year in order to concentrate more on building a new body of work. That's the plan anyway.
