I am part of an exhibit at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA during the month of January.
"Seasoned Palette: Artists with an Appetite for Nature" Jan. 4 - 30, 2010.
Opening Reception: Jan. 10, 2-4 pm
The exhibition of work is curated by Sue Aygarn-Kowalski.
Fourteen artists will exhibit thematic works inspired by nature's quiet grandeur revolving around the earth, water, and sky in oil, acryllic, pastel, and watercolor.
12 of my oil pastels will be in the show including the painting shown.
"Serenity" 16" x 16" oilpastel.
Lovely control of oil pastel! I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch, DJ
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Pat! Are you planning to put something for sale this time, or just showing?
ReplyDeleteYes, they are all for sale in the show.
ReplyDeletePat, you really capture the beauty of all your flowers. Sorry I missed the reception.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, it was a great reception for all of us and the space is awesome....
ReplyDeleteOil pastel is one medium I've never tried. Your paintings are beautiful and you have motivated me to spend money on more art supplies. Gotta get me some oil pastels!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy. I just love them and use them almost exclusively now. Make sure you get some decent ones...
ReplyDeleteThis one is really nice.
ReplyDeleteI agree about using top quality materials and have eliminated all my huge tubes of Winton colors and other lesser paints. It makes more of a difference than I would have thought.
Thanks, Mary and it really does make a difference. Less frustration if you are just starting out.
